The 2006 Ellerslie Flower Show coincided with landscapedesign.co.nz’s first birthday, and to mark the occasion, we presented an Exhibition Garden at the show.

This garden celebrates New Zealand outdoor living, by creating a structure linking the garden intrinsically with architectural space.
Drawing on the quintessential legacy of Macrocarpa; an often undervalued timber, this garden illustrates how it can be used to create a durable contemporary outdoor room.
Selected native plants work in harmony with the warmth of the exotic timber, sculptural forms and the west coast stone pathway. A generous Puka creates a central focal point flanked by standing Pohutukawa - a true icon of New Zealand summer.
Soak in the ingenious Kiwi Tub, enjoy the light moving across Des Robertshaw’s sculpture, or nestle into a bean bag with a good book.
A space to recreate oneself in the true sense of the word.
